Today marks 10 weeks into my journey with T25!! I am so happy that I took a leap of faith, not only with the program but with myself and I am seeing it through.

Shakeology: Not your average protein shake
I have NEVER been a very big fan of protein shakes. I would always spend too much money on them at the local supplement store and then let them sit in the pantry for months on end because I could never enjoy them enough to drink on a regular basis. Chalky, artificial tasting, yucky-ness.
For years I had been hearing about Shakeology, but like many stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the price. I remember thinking that people were crazy for spending that kind of money on a protein powder that they could get for a fraction of the cost at a supplement store... but then I realized that I was one of those people spending money on the lower-priced item and dreading every sip.
FINALLY I gave Shakeology a try and I couldn't be happier!! When I placed my order, vanilla was the newest flavor so I gave it a shot. Holy moly. It is like a vanilla shake. The best part is, you can add practically any flavor to it and it is amazing. I love peanut butter, so that is an easy go-to but also, a cup full of fresh or frozen fruit with a splash of low-cal OJ gives you an awesome smoothie!
My favorite recipe right now is to use a scoop of vanilla ShakeO with 1 1/2 cups of cold coffee and 5 ice cubes. Pop them in the blender and BOOM you have yourself a low-cal, nutrient PACKED Frappuccino :)
Another thing I have been considering is making my own caramel sauce to add. I have seen a bunch of crock-pot caramel recipes on Pinterest and have been dying to try them. I will be sure to let you know how that goes!
If you want to know more about Shakeology, head over to my coaching page and check it out. Or leave me your email in the comments and we can chat about it!!

Summer body under construction
I am so thankful that I found T25 and made a commitment to stick to it. With the awesome support of my boyfriend, family and friends I found a workout program that I not only see incredible results from but also look forward to doing! *WIN*
I have gotten a lot of questions recently about how the videos are and if I feel as if it is really repetitive. My immediate answer is always no. They are so engaging and honestly so kick-ass that you don't even have a chance to get bored before it is over. Push play, sweat your ass off (literally) and then BAM 25 minutes later you are DONE! SO great right?
Today is March 10th which means you have exactly 100 days until Summer is officially here... WORK NOW!!!! You will not regret it :) I promise!
Go to my Team BeachBody page HERE and take a look around. If you want to know more about T25, or any of the other amazing programs, leave me your email in a comment and we can chat :)

Alpha Grad!!
Happy Tuesday all!!
This weekend I was SO, SO excited to complete the Alpha round of T25!! It took me a bit longer than the 5 week timeline (8 1/2 weeks, 10 days of which I spent sick as a dog) but I am proud to say that I did not skip a single workout! I went along with the schedule and completed all 30 workouts, including some extra in between, plus Zumba classes!
I feel AMAZING. Official weigh in = 6.8lbs down, and many inches lost all over my body. I don't have before and after pics yet, I am hoping to have Randy take them later. I would love to take them when there is still natural light in the house!
This is my "crazy, sweaty, I don't care" selfie that I took on Sunday after finishing the last workout! Geek haha

I cannot say enough amazing things about this workout. It has changed my workout mentality completely, and while I cannot wait for the weather to get nicer so I can get back to running a few days per week, I know that I will continue with this program. I'm addicted.
IT IS 25 MINUTES PER DAY PEOPLE. EVERYONE'S GOT TIME FOR THAT!!!!

BeachBody Coaching!
Alright! I am 7 weeks into my T25 program and LOVING it!! Although I am a bit behind on the workout schedule, I should be completing the alpha round by the end of next week. I recently had to take off 9 whole days due to sickness :( But I am back on track and having a blast!
After starting T25 and really getting into the program along with drinking my daily dose of Shakeology, I decided to take the jump and become a coach! BEST decision :)
I am already the proud momma of an amazing group of challengers. Currently, Katie, Melissa, Brie and Amy are also using T25, Christina is about to begin the 21 Day Fix program and Randy is killing it with P90X+ I am so proud of all of them!
Also, I recently decided on a name for my team: 3 Zone Fitness
If anyone is interested in learning more about any of the MANY BeachBody programs, or has any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
My coach website is www.beachbodycoach.com/DANIELLEM8
Go ahead by, take a look around and if you send me your email address I can gift you a free club membership that gives free full access to the beachbody website!!

New Year 2014!
Hey everyone!
So as with the trend, I fell off the "blogging bandwagon" after the Rock n Roll HM back in September! After that race I took a loooong and needed break from running!
Good news: I got a job!! Hooray :) I am now a research assistant at the Center for Virology and Vaccine Research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA! So far I am loving it, although the commute is less than enviable haha
That being said, my 10+ hour days out of the house have left me with a pretty big hole in my workout regiment. I am still going to Zumba as much as I can and loving every minute of it!
Back in December I ran in the Santa Sightings 5k for the second year, this time with my siblings! We has SUCH a blast! I will make that it's own post because there are too many fun pictures to not share!
For Christmas, my boyfriend (who has now completed one round of P90X, is on to P90X+ and getting compliments everywhere he goes!) bought me Focus T25. It is a 25 minute/ 5 days per week for 10 weeks workout program by Shaun T, the creator of Insanity and a BeachBody extraordinaire! The fact that the workouts are only 25 minutes is EXACTLY what I am looking for to allow me to have NO excuses when I get home to just do it!!
Along with starting T25, I went onto the BeachBody website and through my coach I purchased a one month supply of Shakeology to enter myself into an online fitness group challenge. With the support of the other members of the group, and my coach Courtney I am really excited to have this program kick my butt!
I will still be running as much as possible, but with my weekly work schedule, it look like that will be reserved for weekends only due to the cold outside (hello Massachusetts winter) and the lack of motivation to head to the gym and dreadmill run!
I hope everyone had a great fall, a wonderful Holiday season, and is excited about 2014 as I am!
Happy running :)

Rock n Roll Half marathon
Amazing. I still can't stop smiling 24 hours later. This was such a great event through a great city and the crew for Rock n Roll marathon series was awesome!! I absolutely loved the route, it was beautiful running through the city, but then also scenic taking us pretty far out to run along the water at points. It was somewhat hilly but not unbearable. I feel like once you run the NB half AND have done two Tough Mudders, you can run do anything ;) haha
I kiced my PR's butt and shaved 14 minutes off of my previous half-marathon time. I averaged just over 11 minute/miles which I thought was unattainable! Most importantly, I NEVER STOPPED TO WALK!!! There are not enough exclamation points that would fit on the page to express my excitement for this accomplishment.
It was tough but soooo worth it. Couldn't be more thankful for my wonderful support team including my parents, Stephie and Randy for making the trip in the wee hours this morning to cheer me on :) I am so grateful.
I also have the best family and friends a girl could ask for, with constant words of support and encouragement throughout this weekend and my entire training for that matter. I am so blessed to be surrounded with the most amazing people :)
Unfortunately I am not the kind of runner that can multi-task so I don't have any pictures along the route. I do have some great before and after shots though, and a few my sister took of me at mile 12.5... the bitter end!!
Overall I had a wonderful experience and I cannot wait until my next race! And it is safe to say that I will be participating in this event for as long as it is hosted in the area! Who knows, maybe soon I can travel to one!
